1970 E heads

hello everyone,

I recently bought a 70 442 with the original 455. it has the E heads on it. I haven't found much info on these particular style heads. they must be decent heads since it produces 365 HP. when I researched these heads on 442 .com they say that the good heads were of course the F but also a,b and d were good. what about these E heads?

Everyone gets hung up on which BBO heads are best. The reality is that except for the J heads, all BBO head castings are probably within 10% or so of each other in stock form. It isn't worth changing them. Obviously some have small valves and some have big, which makes a difference, but any Olds head casting can be machined for the large valves. The reality is that if you are looking to replace heads, spend the money on a set of Bernard Mondello ProComps.
