1970 Delta 88 455 4 barrel - thoughts on engine swap

Is this a good option to put in a 69’ Cutlass 4 speed? It’s in a running car with 80k on it, he’s asking $1k. What do you guys think? What should I look for?

You'll have pilot bearing issues to overcome because it came from an automatic trans car. Make sure it has the zbar boss on it.

If it's a running car is the seller going to remove the engine for you? Is that price oil pan to air cleaner, and fan to flywheel?

Yes, running car from air cleaner to oil pan and he’s pulling it.

a 70 455 from a full size
a 69 M20
a .308 converted to posi

@11971four4two has (or had) a BBO crank drilled for pilot bearing, I think. May still be available.

I've got crankshafts drilled for the manual transmission up in Oregon. But if your hope is to run the engine without rebuilding it you may not want to swap out the crankshaft. John
