1967 442 air cleaner issue

I have a clearance issue with my air cleaner! I installed a Edelbrock performer RPM intake manifold and a Holley Super Sniper 4150 EFI carb! I measured from the top of carb to top of fenders and I only have about 2 1/8" to 2/14" more like 2' of clearance. has anyone installed this same set up and if so what air cleaner did you use or what are, if any, my options?

The problem with anything Edelbrock is the throttle arms are too high. Hang up on the air cleaners. Especially drop based ones.

I believe I have solved my issue with air cleaner clearance on my car with Holley 4150 EFI and Edelbrock performer RPM intake! I bought a drop base and a 1/2" spacer and it seems to have enough clearance now. I needed the spacer because the drop base would not fit with out it. The true test will come when I install the hood!

I'm using one of these on my car with a Holley carb.

Looks to me like your straight edge is showing the top of your hood, not the underside.

Yeah ... better hope your engine is balanced and the mounts are in good shape, because it looks like it's gonna be pretty tight to me.

yea I know! I am hoping that the hood has a little crown for some more clearance. i have not put the hood on yet because I have some more work to do, but when I do I will lower slowly and put some clay on top so I can see just how much room I have, if any.

The engine is balanced but I might have to weld some straps onto the mount or put a cable from engine to frame like I did on my 65 Stang but I will wait to see after I put my hood back on!

Holley EFI Sniper? I like that cleaner! looks like I could use my decal from original cleaner on it, but it looks like a 3" cleaner to me and mine is 2" now and my drop base works on a Holley 4150 but not on the EFI carb with out 1/2" spacer.!

I wonder if any of my tips or tricks from what I did on my 71 will help? Here's the link to what worked for me.

I've got a spare 442 hood I am keeping, and I have this Cutlass hood I could sell. Problem is getting it to you as I am in lower Indiana. I'd sell the Cutlass hood for 100, but, again, the shipping is the issue and so is the time packaging it and getting to the freight.
