1967 425 at a local yard. trans looks new.

It was a couple of weeks ago so it might be gone but . . .

I am thinking about picking up this trans . . . maybe some parts off of the motor.

There are also a few extra parts . . . Ka heads, intake, odds and ends.

Anything motor wise I should grab besides the oil pan if it is still there next week?

btw . . . do all 67 toros have the cutouts in the bumper?

Here are a few
pics.

$175 with no accessories (including core). It is a pull your own part . . . so lots of labor!!

If I needed it, it would be a labor of luv!! lol
That is why I haven't done it. I already have 3 455s.

get the Ka heads - big valves
The red Toro intake is worthy for Toro, Motorhomes, etc.
The "W" intake with EGR and the oddball 1965 hot air choke pieces is scrap metal, not worth saving.

Any 425 is worth having, Toro much more so- that is the ultimate Olds BB in my opinion. Move out a 455 and put in the 425.

Yes all 67 Toro bumpers have cutouts.

kind of a dumb question . . . but without going into too much detail, why is the 425 better? Is 66 or 67 better?

Heads would cost me around $90 with core charge.

IT may be gone. I will probably go out tomorrow morning and check on it. It is about 40 miles from my house.

425 vs 455

The 425 shares the same forged steel crank as the high revving early (65-67) 400. The 425 can be overbored quite a bit supposedly.

======================
'66-67 Toro are identical except for B heads vs C heads. And the application stamp maybe. Ultra high compression, factory built with select fit parts- it was the factory flagship you know... Forged crank, shorter stroke than the 455 makes for easier revving- only important if you are accelerating. Then again a 1/4 mile race is nothing but accelerating, eh? I have had both. I prefer the 425. Most folks who have had a 425 concur, in my experience.

Heads would cost me around $90 with core charge.

I'll give you 2x that plus shipping
