Exclamation 2001 Aurora A/C problems

So we have an 01 Aurora and the A/C does not blow cold. Have checked the a/c clu fuse and relay. Both are good. Compressor seems to not engage (can't hear it come on when turning a/c on). I had heard that the temp sensor may dislodge, leaking coolant. Where would this be and how do I know for sure whether the compressor is bad or not?

thanks,
Derrick

Do you have gauges?

Pete has a point. If you have a set of manifold gagues then you should check the pressure in your system. If you don't have a set you can sometimes rent these from the auto parts store. They are pretty simple to hook up.
