I like that generation of Aurora. I would offer $2000 cash for it if I was in the market. Make sure the coolant is in good shape. Some of the older Auroras ran DexCool and not changing or flushing the coolant caused the block and heads to warp. Nice car!

I have always liked the body style of the first generation Aurora. Next to my STS cadd its the best luxo fast cheap long distance cruiser. Gets 20 to 24 on the hiway

If this '99 Aurora DOES have the Autobhan option(3.73 gears), highway milage should be about 24-27mpg. Non- Autobhan modles I have seen high as 32.

Speedo or sticker in the jamb for tire specs will tell you if its an Autobahn.

I love mine. There are a few pricy things that are known to be problems on these cars. If you are able to do it on your own i wouldnt be scared of it.

They listed a lot of options but most of those seem standard. I think the only other options available not listed would be the Bose system, Moon Roof and Autobahn.

If i recall, the ratio goes from 3.48 to 3.71, shifts point modified, V-Rated tires, speedo range goes higher and top speed limiter changed from 110 to ~140

Well guys, I drove over 2 hours to Empire Motors in Manchester ,NH. Directions on MapQuest is out-of-line where this place is.
Spent over 2 hours tring to find this hole-in-the-wall place.
I got there at 4pm. I did not see the car on the lot (just a white 2nd Gen Auroroa with 4.0 V-8).
I walked in to see what was up.
I told these folks I was coming to see this car (sent several emails), and Chris Ducharme. said to me " the car is here but not here", "we have the car but it is in the shop"
The number for this poorly run outfit is (603) 641-8800.

I am VERY TICKED OFF!

We like our Auroras; they ride really firm and stable, sort of like a big Vette, the seating front and rear is very comfortable; bad stuff- on a long ride, like 10 hours I find my arms get sore because of the steering wheel position-too far ahead; - is useless in deep snow because the white furry stuff goes up under the bumper and plugs up the condenser and thus no air for the rad...trunk is kinda small and with the Bose you lose another 1/3 really easy to change the antenna, after you remove the disc changer wheels are nice but the hub caps are pretty flimsy...

That is a bummer that they didn't have the car there. Did they ever tell you where it was?

That is madness. You should offer them $1800 cash for the car since they gave you the run around!

If you want to trade in a 1991 Dodge Colt with a blown head gasket and bad reverse they should let you have the Aurora for $1200 cash.

If you can find a good one, it is one of the last great cars made in my opinion. I have owned 3 and still have one now. I put over 200k on one of the cars I sold and I am looking for a diamond white one now to clone a pace car from. I love my Aurora and I will always have at least 1.
