1996 transmission issue

1996 transmission issue

Problem: When engine is cold transmission will shift and will be able to drive it for about a mile or so. When engine gets hot trans just seems to shut down. If I turn the engine off for 5 to 10 mins can drive it a little further. What causes this? Help

seals going

A lot of times that is caused form the tranny pump going it gets hot the seals bleed by and does not create enough pressure to operate the tranny.
pull the dip stick and smell the fluid it may be just a burnt tranny.

aurora transmisson issue

Thank you for your feedback! I have looked at the trans fluid all appears to be fine and clear. Not burnt or brown. Where is the trans pump. I got under the car but its all a blur to me...

I want to do it. But I think you are right the trans is getting hot...

Trans pump

it is located inside the tranny behind the torqu converter. Not something you can do unless you know how to rebuild trannys

1996 aurora transmission

So the pump is inside the transmission... How big a job is that and what would be your estimate of cost?
