AIC's build thread

I've owned my Alero less than a month, but have already started to make it mine. I keep a list of what I've done and what I plan on doing to it here. I'm not doing anything too crazy with it, as it is a daily driver, but I like to document what I do, and you'll find that here.

I'm a little late on getting this put together, so I've done a number of things already. Here is my list of things I've done:
1) door Speakers
2) Air Filter
3) New shocks/springs
4) upgraded Head unit with BT and USB (Yay audiobooks!)

Updated list of things I plan on doing soon

1) Oil change
2) install the tires I bought for it
3) Spark plugs
4) New sway bar links and bushings.

For the spring/strut upgrade. I bought this set:

buying them as a set, something I had not done before, made the job a breeze and totally transformed my car.

Here is the video for that:

Replaced the spark plugs and the t-stat over the weekend. Spark plugs were pretty easy for a fwd v6 I didn't have to take anything apart. My infiniti I had to take 1/3 of the engine apart to do those.

My alero is NOT liking the AZ heat... Not sure how to approach that, but I guess a coolant flush is probably the first step.

Are your fans working?

I read your post on Aleromod and I'm wondering if the fan plug came out or a wire got knocked loose. Plus the fans turn on as soon as you turn on the AC

I will check again, I checked a while ago (when I first got the car) and they both kicked on. I'll check tonight (have to wait till the sun goes down otherwise the car is too hot to touch).
