Qudrajet Fuel Leak

The Quadrajet (#7027156) on my 1967 442 has begun to leak around the "pressed in plug" at the front of the bowl where the fuel filter is located. This was repaired in the past, prior to my ownership, with what looks like an amber colored, semi transparent epoxy. What is the recommended repair process? Is there a preferred sealant? The carburetor performs well and I'd prefer to retain it as it "appears" to be the original factory installed unit.

I contacted Cliff Ruggles about your carb. First remove the old epoxy, then:
"Best method is to gently “peen” the material around the plug and re-seal it. I’ve done this countless times and to date never had to remove one of those plugs for another type of repair......"
The best epoxy to use is Marine Tex 1:1 ratio, available all over Amazon, Ebay...ect. Good luck
