edlebrock adapter plate fitment

I was toying around with the idea of putting an Edelbrock AVS2 carb on my stock olds manifold, but using the adapter plate #2696. Does anyone know if there will be clearance issues with my stock OAI system? Edelbrock says that the adapter is .850 inches high. thanks mike

I think your going to have height issues and if you are using a choke your air cleaner may not fit.

As I mentioned in the PM response, the E-brock carb is about the same height as the Qjet. The adapter will likely make the stack too high. Those spreadbore-to-square bore adapters also add a flow disruption that can negate any advantage from the new carb.
