aftermarket carb with oai

My quadrajet carb was on its last leg months ago. Its been sent out to be built, still being a pain. Ive driven the car 50 miles since.
Now I just went through it, again. The issue is it over fuels....Is it really true the quad. carbs are the best? Ive had 2- mechanics "look at it"
The carbs an original w-30 auto carb, but its a Frankenstein thing, some one I think drilled stuff out or widened chambers ...
Anyways I was going to get a Jet rebuilt carb, but their weeks out.
Does an edelbrock carb fit with the oai cleaner?
Is there a quick solution?

I know the correct answer but dont want to loose another year not able to drive the dam thing.

You can get a core Rochester and rebuild it or you can get a rebuilt one and put yours on the shelf until you can get it fixed.

I was looking at the demon made b
y holley, that is a spreadbore. But idk. If it would fit the oai . Base plate.
I dont think a retrofit will fit?. It is best to stick with the q_ jet?. Probably

Not familiar with the Demon. Don't get an Edelbrock the air cleaner may not work with the fuel line and choke setup.
