heads for 455

Working on a 70 442 with 455. Has been sitting since 82 and mice got into the engine. Looking for a set of heads with this configuration E CFD 403 and 686 Not sure this is the right way to ask but these are the numbers. Just looking to rebuild the car to original specs as it was a family car of my neighbor. Hope someone can point me in the right direction- first OLDS having had 16 Corvettes previously Thanks Paul

If your wanting to make it as original as possible check the casting number of the block, back by the distributor. Then create a parts wanted thread asking for heads with casting dates similar to the block. As RetroRanger said, these are common heads that were used on 1970 455's for most applications. You can also buy small valve heads and have your machine shop cut them out for the larger valves. Another thing that might help is to post your location, then look for heads near your part of the country to save on shipping costs. John

How does a mouse infestation require head castings?

There ar E heads around. Usuallw we put all 6 digits of the casting id together: E 403686

or just call 'em "E heads"

Watch out for F heads altered into an "E" - always ck the 6-digit, and the underside numbers.
