Scoop Covers??
Scoop Covers??
Ok, this is probably for Wmachine but A few years back I used to record the vintage "Road & Track" shows on SpeedVision...now Speed. I recall an episode where they were doing a test of a 68 or 69 442 (sorry this was before I bought my 442 so I was not as observant) and the host held up what he referred to "rarely used" scoop covers for the Force Air Induction system.
Well, now that I am a proud 442 owner, I have never seen these covers? And as we all know, the "Winter Use" decal only talks about disconnecting the air tubes...no mention of covers? Plus, given the chrome trim band on the scoops I can't imagine the trim surviving more than a season?
Was this an item that never made it to mass production or are they out there somewhere?? I'm going to see if I can find the tape and will post when I do...

I'm not sure if they mention scoop covers though.
