Anybody got/had experience with repair/replacement of your deck lid backer frame? My deck lid outer sheet metal is excellent and rust free, but the bottom 3-4" of the underside frame backer has rusted through. I've searched the web extensively, but no luck finding replacement sheet metal for this. Just trying to keep original deck lid. Any help would be greatly appreciated. 1972 Olds 442

curious how you folks would repair this...I’m a pretty good welder/fabricator but ended up scrapping a decklid out that looked like this several years ago. Hated to do it...

 

X2 that's pretty gone. There is a bunch of rust free pieces out there....
