PCV to carb question
PCV to carb question
I have a 70 442 automatic with OAI. The venting was set up incorrectly. It had both valve covers vented to the air cleaner and no pcv valve. The hole on the bottom front of the carb was plugged. It ran good. I changed to the right configuration. The driver side valve cover got a pcv valve with a hose to the carb. Passenger side vented to the air cleaner. The car seems to want to stall. Would I have to adjust the carb after this change? Not sure what to do. Thanks
Not that it matters a whole lot but the pcv goes on the passenger side. Reason is because its usually the side with the baffle. I have run into bad pcv valves over the years, are you sure it's working correctly?
If the pcv is operating correctly, what are your tuneup specs set at?

Wonder why this was done in the first place since the PCV system is simple, effective and does not affect performance. Any restrictions in the air cleaner vent? Good vacuum from the carb to PCV valve?
I think it was done because the manual is a little confusing with the OAI setup. W30's and manual transmission cars had the lines from both valve covers to the air cleaner and pcv from the intake to the carb. Automatic OAI cars did not have the port for the pcv in the intake manafold. So I guess they set it up like a w30 but with no pcv valve. Does it affect the carb to have the vac line plugged verses the valve cover pcv with hose attached to it?
