Wow, nice find, nice color combo looks like my hardtop. Is the trailer hitch original, even if not I'd keep it.

My suggestion - enjoy the heck out of it for a while!!!! Collect the parts and do some research while you drive the heck out of it.

Looks very solid! Is it original paint? More Pictures? Where are you in Indiana? You can find lots of parts here here in Indiana if you need any.

Great find!! I say get it mechanically sound and drive as is. What a great car. Funny with the trailer hitch, my 68 RamRod had a trailer hitch on it also. Is the car a four speed?

Same location yes (passenger side axle).

Will be a TM for a 3.42 of a T0 for a 3.73.

Stamp will be TM O XXX or TO O XXX.

The XXX above is the date code and the O after the 2 letter application is for OLDS.

Very nice car. The colors look sharp.
Cheers,

Sam

3.42 - 19th day of 72.

Was your car built in Feb or Mar of 72, Assuming that this is the original rear to the car.

If you can determine if the stripes are original and not repainted I would be very interested in getting lots of close up pictures of them.

I would love to see quality close up pics of the trunk lid stripes. I have never seen a good detailed picture on the net of the way they were. The trunk stripe is obviously not sprayed when you look at originals up close.

In '71 - sure. This is a '72 where all Olds 455's including W-30 had GA on the heads.
