How in the heck do you lose a back window out of a car? I remember removing it then the $&*t dissapears. I lost a shifter boot a few weeks back and who knows what else. Can a guy have alziemers at 44?

I'm losing it.

Depending on your latitude, the earth is spinning at about 1000 mph [not to mention the speed of the earth around the sun] So when you're asleep, you're already going pretty darn fast. Any small attempt to hurry things up are really of little consequence [% wise.]

I always just go and buy another one and when I go to put it where I want to store it, Voila! there's the one I lost in the same place.

You shouldn't have cleaned it so well before you stored it! You probably looked right at it at some point!

I do similar things and I am only 37... I tend to put things in safe places where I know where they will be 4 months down the road. Take the circuit breaker for the amp I pulled and put inside a babyfood jar and placed in a coffee can on a high shelf... What the #^@! was i thinking!
Crap... Come to think of it, where did my back seat bottom go???

I feel better, thanks

You guys saved me a trip to the shrink and a insurance co-pay. Now I can use the money I saved to buy some other stuff I lost.

Oldsguy, we were talking about losing a back window.
Jamesbo, I will slow down because like Rob said it's probably real clean and either I'll step on it or smack my head on it.

You guys should get paid for tips like that.

Look in the last place you would think you would put it. That is usually where I find stuff I lost. That or I do like Jamesbo.

I am obsessive compulsive when I lose something. If I try and forget about it it usually shows up when I am looking for something else that I lost.

Glass is easy to loose since its fragile you you want to put it somewhere it won't get damaged.

Here is a list of places I have been known to store glass. Maybe something will ring a bell.
-inside the house bedroom closet
-house attic
-shop rafters
-loft inside the shed
-inside another project car sitting behind the shop

You have to look in the last place first.
I just throw everything in one giant box and at least I have a general idea of where it is.

How do you lose a back window?? Maybe Jamesbo's Bear needs parts.

Glass does hide in plain site because you can't see it.
See if it's sitting on the windshield.

As you age it only gets worse. Thats why my spare parts collection and tool collection keeps growing with out actually trying. Glass in my garage is usually stored in a old blanket, then I don't remember what the blanket was for and of course I don't see the glass because of the blanket. Go figure.

Memory is the second thing thing to go as you get older, and now I can't remember the first.

restore young....enjoy in your old age

I restored both of my convertibles back when I was 40 (47 now)....that'll do me till they bury me in the back seat with a smile on my face. I restored them over a period of about 6 years. So now that I have that outta my system, think i'll take up crossstitching now and leave the hard work up to the young bucks now. I guess thats the way it was meant to be ....restore cars.....feel old.....enjoy warm days with the top down and the soft rumble of the 455 outta the trumpet tips (I guess thats where the smile comes from when I leave this world)

I will start a search again tomorrow

We went ice fishing to get away from things for a couple days. I forgot I even lost the window until I read this post again. I almost positive my kids have a diabolical plan to drive me crazy and my wife is in involved with it.

I am beginning to forget where I park my cars at age 45 (no fun looking at yesterday's parking spot and of course seeing that your car is not in it). Losing a few parts doesn't seem so bad to me. Don't forget to laugh if you dredge up any old car parts while fishing.

You'll know you've found the window when you move something and hear a big crunch
