Correct air filter
Correct air filter
What is the correct replacement air filter for 70 model 442 w OAI? All the online lookups say a212cw which is the 14" Dia filter, but that is too big. Looks like it needs to be 13" dia?
AC 366c is definitely the correct filter/number for the OAI-equipped car. The filter isn't as thick (cross section thickness) as others and the OAI inner metal lids are stamped to only work with this thinner design.
I have a Wix version of the 366c here and it's PN 42102. If still available the price would likely be A LOT LESS than the AC version (on ebay).
EDIT/ADD: Looks like the Wix version (42102) is available at MANY auto parts stores, internet vendors, etc. O'Reilly's shows it for around $19.

The odds of a regular auto parts store selling a 366c are slim to none. Think about how many OAI cars are already restored....those cars will probably NEVER need another air filter. So....who in their "right" mind would keep these on their shelves? Makes perfect business sense to me.
Huh? You expect a commercial business to carry a part for a half-century-old car that was rare even when it was new in the hopes that someone might need it, when that warehouse space could be used for inventory that is actually needed today and turns over frequently so they can make a profit?
