Another decoding help needed.
What is the VIN?
Unfortunately, in 1969, the 442 body plate alone won't tell you. The 442's shared the Cutlass body style number on the body plate. Need the VIN. Should start with 344 for a 442. In this case, since it's a Lansing car, it must be 344679Mxxxxxx to be a 442 in your case.
It does tell you it's a convertible with black buckets (933) and trophy blue (51) with white top (A) built in the first week of October, 1968 (10A)

What, exactly, does the seller "describe it to be"?
And as noted, it is well documented in factory literature that the 1968-69 442s got 336.. cowl tags and 344... VINs. My 68 W-30, 69 H/O, and 69 442 all have 336... cowl tags.

It's described as a 69 W-30, Seller Isn't 100%.
Does have "D" heads as well as a few other things that make me believe it is.
Here's the VIN# 344679M137041
Also the stamping number on the block
There is no way to prove the car is a W-30 without a build sheet (that you won't find) or an invoice. Nothing on the cowl tag or VIN will tell you. Without documentation, price it accordingly.
What do the red inner fenders look like - repro or original? I'm always skeptical when I see an alleged W-30 with shiny new repro red inner fenders. Also, is it an AT or MT? If it's an AT with a numbers-matching OW trans (and the OW tag looks like it's been there forever as opposed to a new one) that's about the best proof you'll get. Just be aware that there are brand new unstamped OW tags on ebay.
I'll just add that the folks here can be a lot more helpful if you give us all the info about the car up front rather than making us pry it out of you piece by piece. Photos of the key parts would be even better.

I appreciate all the info.
Seller states he removed the original red wheel wells due to then fact they were in bad shape and he installed repro's .
4 speed.
He also stated that he added power brakes to the car, That also raised a red flag.
He's asking 53K
Got any pictures of the complete car? The engine compartment? The full interior? Sorry, but it still feels like we have to twist your arm to get any info.
What's the deal with the 1972 VIN derivative picture?
The steering wheel is a Buick unit, not correct for an Olds.
Does the seller have the original red inners, or just the repros?
Lots of questions about this car. $53K is a lot given that.

Guys I appreciate all the input, I was very Leary about the car.
That was the reason I went to the forum.
As for the pictures of the car the owner has been sending them to me in drips and drabs.
Once again thanks
And I'll keep searching.
I should have kept my 68 H/O that I sold years ago.
