71 442 fender

71 442 fender

i was wondering if there was a parts seller who sells complete front fenders for a 71 442, i'm missing the front right fender and i want to find a fender with the ridges that the 442 has. because as i understand the cutlass doesnt have them...thanks

I think you may have some bad information. In 1971 both the Cutlass and 442 have the ridges, the only difference would be the emblem holes. You could post an ad in the parts wanted section of this site and see if someone has a good used one for sale. John

The ridges are on all 1971-72 Olds A-body front fenders (Cutlass, F85, 442, Vista Cruiser). The ridges are there to facilitate a crush zone in a head on collision. The 1970 front fenders are externally identical but do not have the ridges. Reproduction fenders (with the ridges only) are available from all the usual purveyors of repro sheetmetal. (OPGI, Year One, Sherman, Auto Body Specialty, etc).
