'71 442 air cleaner lid decal

I've seen the "Rocket 455" decal on some and the "442" on some. Even a survivor '72 442 with the "Rocket 455" decal. Which is correct for a '71, non-W30, 442?

not sure how accurate this guy is for actual applications, but at least until a reply comes along, fun to look at http://www.drdecal.com/store/search.cgi?ccat=141

Mike - I'm pretty sure the '442' decal is correct for a 71. I just went through this in replacing the decal on my 72 '442' for which the '455 Rocket' decal is actually correct.

btw, welcome to the site. There are some great people on here. Hey, we should hook up since we're neighbors. I'm actually in Clayton and own a 72 442. There are a lot of good shows coming up and I ran into some guys with a local club last weekend. Would love to see your 71.

Let me know...I'll be out and about this weekend.

Scott

Great! I look foward to meeting you. I'm in South Raleigh (Garner area) so we are close. I usually hit all the local shows and cruises (Grill 57, Char-grill, etc.). Please let me know of any shows/clubs. The decal on my '71 is the "442" decal so it's sounds like that is correct.

Does anyone know the correct decal for a 1968 Cutlass S with a 350 4 bbl? It was a 350 2bbl but i switch it and my 2bbl had the nice steel decal with the chrome middle piece to hold it in place under the wing nut. Should the 4 bbl be the same or just a sticker? They sell both? Any help is appreciated....Todd
