68 442 console lid/ how to?

I recently acquired the plastic base piece for the 4 speed console. I am lucky enough to have a decent metal top for it. The previous owner looks like they had the lid cover installed wrong and chose to force it to close resulting in breakage of the original plastic base.

Does anyone have a reference drawing showing how the hinge attaches properly to the console box?

Thanks!!!

501....that's an auto console you show. He has a 4 speed console which is a completely different animal.

Thanks Nilson !!!

It would be nice for the 4 speed console to have the metal tang for the lock set to brace against versus the cheesy plastic tab that the 4 speed console has. I think the engineer took too much time off that day when he designed that.

Plus the plastic "box" of the console has a tendency to spring outward moving the striker away from the latch

Please tell me what screws you used to attach the hinge. I cannot find a screw that fits the pitch nor length for this.

I have the plastic base and would like to pick up any if all of the other pieces necessary to complete a whole (black) console unit for a 68' 442. I realize that these pieces are not just growing off of trees everywhere, so any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Mike I can be reached at 1-509-396-6622 anytime PST

I don't know of any vendors selling repro metal parts for the console other than the mounting bracket and lock. You can hope for a better console to present itself and also expand your search for 65-69 console as I believe they are the same (other than tach mounted)
