Question 442 only colors?

Hey guys,
When my friend had his '69 Cutlass repainted the guy told him it was a 442 only color. Anyone ever heard this? Is there such a thing? If so what are they? Thanks.

My documentation shows that from 1968 - 1972 only 1971 had "442 Only" colors. They were:

Bittersweet
Saturn Gold
Viking Blue
Lime Green

That being said, I don't fully trust this particular documentation (I'm not positive there were "442 Only" colors in '71).

Each of those years did have colors that were exclusive to the Toronado (that is from documentation I trust 100%), but for the right price you could get get your car painted any color you wanted (within reason). In 1968 the "Exclusive Toronado Colors" were:

Twilight Teal
Cinnamon Bronze
Silver Beige
Buckskin
Peruvian Silver (the same color Hurst Olds' were)

The 1971 brochure shows that Bittersweet, Saturn Gold, Viking Blue, and Lime Green were "Special Colors" and were available on the the 442, F-85, and all Cutlass models.

None of my books mention anything about 442-specific colors in 1969. There were 10 Toronado-only colors that year including Nugget Gold which showed up in the 1971 A-body special-order colors as Saturn Gold.

Is the original question, were there colours available on a 1969 442 but not on a Cutlass, or were colours available to the Olds A body and not on other 1969 Oldsmobiles? If it is the former the answer is no.

Yes the original question is or was: Where there colors available on a 442 that you couldn't get on a Cutlass or F-85?
