So beautiful. I am thankful for @69442murph this thanksgiving!! You worked so hard to get her done this year. It is so hard to be so close... If any of you ever need anything 69 especially or any work done that cannot be managed yourself:

Tim Murphy is phenomenal. Thunder Road Restorations has my complete faith and confidence and my father's Oldsmobile!!

Thank you Tim. Fundraising continues... and we joked about putting another engine it...

Thanks everyone! I cannot wait to meet Scott and Eric and the rest of you at shows. Such an awesome community. I love Scott's parts posts and have spent days scouring through Eric's threads. I love the support you all have given on here and on all of the threads from all over the world. I really have been fortunate to have grown up at Chesrown Newark and to have been able to hold onto Dad's Olds. 45 years... what's one more winter?

Happy holidays you wonderful Olds people!

I see you are looking for a engine builder for your BBO motors, I am in the Metro Detroit area and have been building motors for over 40 years part time, I am now going to start building motors full time with my son (I am a soon to be retired engineer from GM) I can provide you with contacts of many happy customers that I have built motors for if you are interested. I have been specializing in mostly Olds BB engines and Pontiac motors lately, I keep the customer involved and build their motor to the specs for their application with my input on internal components as well as providing all dimensions for all critical clearances. All engines go through a complete run off and cam break in.
Feel free to PM me if you are interested.
Thank you.
Kevin

I am a satisfied customer, tiogatwister built my 70W30 engine. He also did a Pontiac RAIV for a buddy of mine’s 70 GTO Judge. Both of use are very happy with his work.

Thanks everyone!! We have been shaking trees... and there are fruits from our labor! This community, I tell ya what. This story. I am so loving seeing the chapters that were not already written unfold. The number of folks who will have touched the history of my father's Oldsmobile is fascinating! I am so proud to become a part of this community and so mindful of the responsibility to save these automobiles.

Will update you all when we let them pry the engine out of our tight grip for a stay at the spa!

You can also reach out to Chadman on this forum - he's in Ohio and has Olds engine experience.

This car is incredible - those might be the nicest original '68-69 red wells I've ever seen!!

Seems the interwebs were less tangled!

I am thankful every day for my mother who made all of this possible...

And the PIÈCE DE RÉSISTANCE .....

So fantastic to see the whole story come together...

I thought it was weird that Dad got an AM radio... but bought the "stereo" speaker and power antenna ... but there they are... and the rest of the package that had yet to be confirmed elsewhere....

WOW....

08-141 K43727 ... My Father's 1969 Oldsmobile 442 Holiday Coupe W30 from Chesrown Oldsmobile-Cadillac Newark

WOW.

It has been over 47 years since it ran and 50 since it was driven with any regularity.... my fault, totally... I was born in the fall of 72; I thank my blessings everyday that we were strong enough not to let it go...

On Sunday, at the 35th Annual All Oldsmobile Car Show and Swap Meet in Columbus, Ohio, my father's Oldsmobile will be unveiled!!

Thanks to the Mid-Ohio Chapter of OCA, as well as the Northern and Southern Ohio clubs that will be attending this awesome show as well!! There will be so many awesome Oldsmobiles and one SUPER excited lifelong Olds owning family!

Hopefully, I can contain my emotions enough to get some decent pics and vids!

I’m 231xxx; our cars are almost 8300 apart… The broadcast cards for my car are dated December 20 (Friday of the 3rd week); build sheet date is December 26; protect-o-plate January 4, 1969. Not sure how many cars they were pumping out or how much sequence mattered…

Thanks I'm not sure either. My understanding is the body tag was already on the car when it left fisher so 8300 is a fisher number; before the body left fisher Il do more research but I have a 67 442 that was 700 away from another car with the same build date week The POP date were very close to each outher car were both sold with in two weeks of the fisher / sequence date the paint could hardly be dry !! Worthy noting both 67 were sold in the Charlette NC area too

Thanks for getting back to me Il be in the Columbus area Sunday I may drop by.. love to meet you and see the car in person the story is phenomenal

I can never thank @69442murph enough. I can hardly thank you all enough for your support from afar! I am, however, extremely thankful. I am blessed to be the caretaker of this wonderful piece of history. I am so very humbled by all of the interest in our story. I will tell it until I can tell stories no more. I will take my 71 year old mother for a burn every time she asks (the first one was one of the greatest moments of my life). I have attended the 35th Annual All Oldsmobile Show put on by the Mid-Ohio Chapter of OCA and the 50th Vintage Wheels Car Club show here in Richmond since we returned this awesome automobile to the road in September. I will hit a dust off or two and work to prepare for the OCA Nationals next summer in hope of seeing some of you.

Until then, thank you. I cannot wait to meet you and show you my father's Oldsmobile!!!

Scott
