1969 442

I recently looked at a 1969 442. Everything seems legit including the VIN.

But, in the front of the hood it has a rocket emblem. See the picture.

It there any chance it came from the factory this way?

I seriously doubt it came that was from the assembly plant. I suspect either the hood was replaced somewhere along the line after the assembly plant, or possibly even just the little nose piece that holds the rocket emblem for the Cutlass model or the 442 numbers for the 442. Just my personal opinion.

Randy's right. If the VIN starts with 344- then the most likely explanation is a front end nerf necessitating a new hood or at least a nose piece at some point in the car's history.
