Most people are split about 50/50 on liking/hating the stripe anyway. In order to put the stripe on correctly you're going to have to move the fender numerals aft, taking the car even further from originality.

And this is coming from someone who happens to like the stripes

FWIW, as long as there hasn't been any alterations to the numbers, the correct partial VIN on an OW trans is by itself proof positive that it is a W30.

I think it helps to understand that that it is not so much a "stripe delete" as it is an "option delete". And the option being deleted is W36. Which also explain why the 442 emblems revert to the original locations.
So no, it does not have the W36 option.

Just be aware that repro/blank OW tags are available on ebay, unfortunately. If the tag is a crusty old OW tag that looks like it was born on that trans, great. If it's a shiny new tag, be wary.
