1968 442 vin/cowl decode
Hey all,
I've looked through several book/websites and I can't seem to de-cypher all of the info on my cowl tag.
VIN: 3448781117741
Cowl:
MADE IN CANADA
A52C08M40T-27
ST 68 34487 0S321395 BODY
TR 950 1-4-10 CSS PAINT

3 = GM division = Oldsmobile, 44 = model series = 442, 87 = body type = holiday coupe, 8 = model year = 1968, 1 = assembly plant = Oshawa Canada, 117741 = assembly plant sequence number
COWL TAG:
A52 = option code for bench seat, CO8 = option code for vinyl rooftop, M40 = option code for the turbo-hydramatic 400 automatic transmission, T-27 = ? (there is a T87 option code for cornering lamps)
ST 68 = style/model year = 1968
34487 = same breakdown as the front end of your VIN
OS = assembly plant = Oshawa Canada
321395 BODY = Fisher Body number (has no relation to the VIN; this number is established by Fisher Body and the VIN is established at the assembly plant)
TR 950 = interior color and front seat type = black interior with a bench seat
1-4-10 CSS PAINT = ? (I've never seen anything like your paint code before now but I suspect there are others at this site that can break it!)
