1965 442 Work In Progress

Car is slowly coming along. Finally poured some gas down the carb and sparked it briefly. All the old propane stuff is sold. Need to put a gas tank in, a trunk floor, and a fuel pump would help. Don't want to rush into it, though !!
This one may not be much, but these 65 Rockets are sure pretty, aren't they?

Somebody, about 10 years ago, put a dual quad Offy and dual propane tanks and feeds onto the machine. The fellow that sold me the car, said it only got 60 miles to a fill-up, which cost roughly $60. That's a buck a mile. It was quite powerful. Very few people i know want to work on propane, so I sold off all the stuff and am going back to good old petrol. I bet I can do better than a buck a mile with gasoline and an original 72 455 intake manifold. Ther was so much propane stuff under the hood you couldn't even see the engine (no lie). They even removed all the factory air conditioning parts from the firewall, just to make more room for mixers and heaters and whatever. It wasn't pretty.

Yeah propane equipment takes up a lot of room, heater hoses, regulators, etc... Looks like a solid ride!
