I have no direct experience but my guess would be no! GM didn't start using corporate engines and drive trains until the late 70s.

If both cars are the "entry level" Olds 88/Super 88 vs Buick Special/Century, they are the same ('54-'56) car, with different drive trains. Olds used the conventional open driveshaft/leaf spring configuration, but Buick used a closed design, called a "torque tube, with coil springs.

Bottom line? Unless your fabrication skills are up to modifying the components, or changing the whole enchilada, it would not be a good idea.

Since they are the same car, the pedals/linkage should be a direct fit.

Engine and (manual) trans is a direct interchange. Side cover on the '53 Hydro would not clear the '54 floor.

'53 pedals may, or may not, work in a '54.
