425 toro pulley setup

425 toro pulley setup
Looking for some help with the pulley setup on my '66 425 Toro motor.
The 2 pulleys that are on at the moment are crank and water pump, as it sits at the engine shop.
Problem is, they don't line up with each other.
As my motor came disassembled I don't know if the pulleys are wrong, backwards or ?
I don't have photos to post, but hope some of you with 425 motors might post up a pic or two.
TIA,
David

This is usually due to an incorrect water pump installation. With the water pulley removed.... Measure from the pulley flange to the timing cover face with a straight edge and a tape measure. Should be 5.1"
If it measures 5.6" or 6.1" ....you have the wrong water pump.
5.6" is 68-70 and 6.1" is 71-90 with a/c
