For a 69 442, with 14 X 7 SS II wheels, any opinions on using BFG TA 245/60/14 tires. They seem to have the closest "height" to stock in a 60 series.
Just wondering if anyone else is using that formula?

In my opinion, the 245/60-14s are way too small in diameter and leave too much daylight in the wheel opening on an A-body. The 245/60s are only 25.5" in diameter - about 1.5" less than the original tires. If you can find 235/70-14s (27" dia), these look the best, but are very hard to find. 225/70-14s (26.5") are common and are the next best choice.

 

I run 235 60,s and they do leave a lot of room but with a ho suspension they work best. I also have no problems with the quarter lip even aftermarkets for clearance reasons.

 

I put on Tires 215/75 R 14 whitewalls Cooper Trender Setter, diameter 26.7, whitewall - they look fantastic.

 

You know I have had 245/60s on my car forever. Last year when the hardtop came to me it had 235/70s just like Joe mentioned. I didn't realize until then how tiny my wheels looked. The taller tires look way better, maybe not quite as wide but who cares go with the taller tire.

I actually have spent many patient years finding 15 x 7 SSIIs and the car looks even better with those.
