another wheel/tire size question
another wheel/tire size question
I am going with repro ss1's. i want to go as wide as possible. I am wondering if 15X8 wheels will work on the front and if I can go with 15X10 in the rear? Also, if those will work, what tire size will work with them? thanks, dave
Considering that you haven't told us the wheel offset, the tire diameter and width, or even the car you plan to put these on, it's hard to provide a useful answer.
Sorry Joe, I thought everyone could see my signature. It is my 68 cutlass. I don't know the offset that is what I am trying to figure out. I am buying new wheels and tires and want to know what to buy. For the front I already have 4 new 235/60 15's that I would like to use with the 15X8's if they will fit. I need to know what offset to get for the front 15X8's (if any) and if the 15X10's will work on the rear. If the 15X10's will work I need to know what offset to get and what tire will work with them. Thanks, Dave
I am in need of new wheels for my '67 442. I am leaning toward the Cragar Magnum 510s. Original wheels are 14x6. I am definatley going to upgrade to 15s, but I am very nervous on width. This whole backspace and offset thing is holding me back a little. How or what do I need to know in order to do this right?

I tried a bunch of different wheel and tire combos on mine and settled for this look. My rears are 8.5's with p275-60-15's and they would have definately rubbed.
The 15 x 7'ish will accept any 60 series tire and never rub.
