I have 15 x 7 Oldsmobile SS wheels.
Thinking of putting them on my 4 door 82 Delta 88.
I would like to explore what other options there are to use as a center cap on SS wheels .
There might be a plastic ABS snap in cap ,
in chrome / silver to match the stainless bezels ?
Or another idea, i removed the spring steel clip from the original oldsmoble center cap , was thinking maybe something could be attached to this , a flat piece of stainless to match the stainless bezels. or maybe spinners
has anyone tried the ABS caps, will that work ? what size would i be looking for ? part number ? do you have any other ideas ? please post pic s of anything non traditional ! Thanks !
Test fit those rims before you buy special spinners. 77 and up B/C bodies had a 5x4.75" bolt circle unless they had HD brakes, then they had a 5x5" bolt circle.

To clarify, the small vs. large bolt pattern issue only applies to the 1977-1985 B-body Delta 88s. All C-body Ninety Eights and all Custom Cruiser wagons came only with the big brakes and the big bolt pattern.
Here are some on mine. My dad made these many years ago and they were on some painted wheels I first ran on my ‘64. The wheels are gone but I kept the caps. The rears are held on with a large washer and a stud in the center of the cap. The fronts have 5 screws around the edge with washers that overlap the notches on the wheel. They are aluminum.

I would like something that is simple and easy to snap into place after i get home from a tire shop. and would not have to remove the wheel again to adjust tabs on a center cap . But would like to see pic s of anything others have found that fit well or made .
I went to a tire and wheel shop with an Oldsmobile SS wheel . i did find some ABS center caps that fit .
The ABS center cap that fit the best was a GM c/n 9595010 . when you search for images of that part # on line there are a lot of choices . there is one that has SS on it and plastic chrome to match the stainless bezels . found these pic s on line
Joe thanks for the cylindrical center cap option , i did not know those would also fit SS rims that use snap on center caps . The way they bolt on they would for sure not fall off. for me i am older and would like something i could install after coming home from a tire shop or repair shop, with out removing the wheel from the car . Another bolt on idea is large stainless washers , they match the stainless bezels !
Olds64 here is a pic of the GM cap on a rim . i think you would have liked to see them on the car , but this is a start . They could be spray painted any colour . they fit very well .
Another ABS plastic cap that fits is a Mopar Part # 6 K F 1 8 T R M A A. They do not fit as well as the GM . The mopar would fit well in a hole size a bit larger as they do not fit flush . But they should not fall off . The hooks are long and maybe for a thicker rim . To fill the gap i put on some black O rings, to cover and fill in the gap , for fun could use a coloured O ring . They are very shinny and with all the angles reflect light when car is moving . They match the stainless bezels . These are cheap $ to buy. For me they are fun ! no one looks at my 4 door car anyway, and if they do its a , what make is this car ?
Olds64 ,I do not have any of the Starfish snap on center caps that Joe mentioned . But looks like they use the same ring clip as the more common snap on center caps. Picture of ring clip already posted above. Its nice to know the Starfish were an original factory option as Joe has pointed out .
I do have some of the more common snap on center caps that came with the rims , but they are in bad shape . This is just an idea for some of us to not have more money into the center caps then the value of the car ! and for some to have a different look , as not everyone is looking for points at a car show ! Idea is something that fits well and easy to snap on and off . and if it does fall off no big deal , the above ABS caps posted above are cheap to buy and plenty around. There must be a lot more ABS caps that will fit .
A creative idea for someone would be to attach something to the original center cap ring clips.

Right on. I've considered buying knock-off Daytons for my 71 98 but at $1000+ per wheel. OUCH!
BTW, we still want to see a pic of your Olds with the SS wheels and your daily choice of spinner.
