BFG radial T/A white lettering
BFG radial T/A white lettering
Still waiting to get my SSIII wheels back from powdercoating. When I do I'm looking at new RWL tires. Leaning toward the BFG T/A's.
I've read quite a few reviews on the T/A's that the white lettering turns brown after a short time, and not any good way to correct it. Has anyone else had this problem?

There was a recent discussion with a poll. I think most people myself included, swayed towards Cooper Cobra GT’s. Part of the reason was the brown letters on the BFG’s and the fact they are aware of
the problem but at unwilling to fix it.

BFG "had" a known problem 5-10 years back. The black rubber was leaching through the white. A manufacturing process was the root cause...I think.
They replaced my 24-month-old 300 mile rear tires free. The fronts (different size have never been a problem).
Now Im looking at the rears last week, they aren't as bright as the fronts. 0 miles last year.
Soo I'll keep ya'll posted when I get the carb back on it (Cliffs still got it) and back it out and clean the NOT dirty tires.
If they prove to be doing the same thing then I WILL reverse the white letters and go black walls.
These tires are 5 years old already...well the fronts are. Just goes to show ya how fast time flies. Always check the DOT date. 10+ toss em.

Purchased the BFGoodrich Radial T/As about a year and a half ago (2019). Stored my car last winter for about 4-5 months and this year the letters were completely brown. Tried steel wool, every whitewall cleaner and SOS pads and they still aren't completely white. Never again. I purchased Mickey Thompsons for my other car in spring of 2020. Stored 4-5 months and the lettered tires are perfectly white. BFG still has a big problem.
