72 CS Tires

What originally came on the 72 CS with the 14" SSIII wheels. Was it a standard whitewall or could a redline be optional. I see Coker has redline radials, some with a whitewall with a redline. Just curious as the previous owner put radials on the one it currently own with white letters, they are ok, but just don't like them. Thoughts on what could have come on the car from the factory. I asume Goodyear or General back then. Thanks everyone. best info found here on this sight.

The standard tires were F78-14 blackwall. Options were F78-14, G78-14, and G70-14 white stripe or G70-14 raised white letter. Redlines weren't offered.

I remember seeing a dual white stripe tire. Was there such a tire offered?

Not in 1972, as that SPECS page I posted above shows.

Yes, but it was from aftermarket suppliers. I remember my Dad buying them from Gulf even before 1972 and they were for our 67 Towne Sedan. Same size I believe as the 72 Cutlass BTW. Only back in 67 the tires were identified as 7.75 x 14
