I’m looking for a set of original trim rings for the SSIV wheels. It appears the ‘77-‘79 N98 trim rings are the same. Which wheel in the picture are the N98’s?

I just ran across your post while looking for something else. Are you still looking for SSIV trims?
To answer your question, Wheel C (77-79 Custom Chrome, 98 only) is the N98 option.
Those trims are exceedingly rare, they actually clip to the outer edge of the rim, not the inside diameter like most caps. I use later model trims on my SSIV's, I believe they are from Chev Rally rims, but there is a gotcha to using them.
They are available everywhere as repros, but there are different styles.One style has a small lip on the inside edge which aims toward the rims
DO NO PUT THEM ON EVEN TO TEST. When pounding them in, the lip will dig into the rubber as it nears the bottom, as it is bigger than the space available.
They will not come back out without much digging, swearing, and it will usually destroy them.
I have SSIV and Custom Chromes on my Custom Cruisers and use the repro trims on both.
I've attached pix of my SSIV, and one of the trim you don't want to use if you go that way.

I believe I still have a set of original SSIV trim, not in the best of shape. If you are still looking, I will go out to storage sometime this coming week and check.
If memory serves, I believe I have trims from both wheel styles and can let you know if they are they same.

SSIV with later trim ring

Trim rings not to use

 

15" trim rings from 90s Chevrolet/GMC pickups fit SSIV well and are shaped to fit into recess between Polycast and outer rim edge. The very narrow 77-79 Ford Polycast trim bands will also work but leave the recess exposed.

Correct that 71-72 SSIV and 77-80 N82 (C in the brochure pic) use the same trim ring. N98 is 65 442 optional chrome wheel.
