compact spare tire

When I purchased my '73 Omega Hatchback I was very pleased to find the original space saver spare in the spare tire compartment, (the compressed air canister was also there!).

I didn't want to use this as our spare tire, (only for show after we finish the restoration project), so I'm looking for another tire/rim to use for an actual spare.

Of course with the tire needing to be stored in the smaller hatchback tire storage area, I was looking for a compact/donut size replacement.

Can anyone suggest another model car that might have a spare tire that's interchangeable with my Omega?

I believe I have a 14" rim with a 4 3/4 bolt pattern.

Try to find a Buick Apollo, Pontiac Ventura or Chevy Nova in the salvage yard. They're all the same X body car.

BTW, my father; Oldsguy, had an Omega the same color. He sold it years ago before moving from KCMO.

The 1977-1990 B-body cars (Delta 88, Caprice, etc) have a donut spare with both the 4.75" and 5" bolt patterns, since these cars could have come with either (4.75" with regular brakes, 5" with HD brakes or wagons).

If you have posi, you don't want to use a donut spare for any distance, however.
