Wheel advice

Looking to upgrade tires and potentially wheels on 70 Cutlass with original 14" rally wheels. At same time have 2022 Tesla Model S on order with 19" inch wheels I'll be replacing. Wondering if can solve two problems at once. Will the 19" wheels from my new Tesla (tires are 255/45-19F 285/40-19R) fit in the wells of my Cutlass without rubbing? Tesla tires are 28" tall and 10 - 11.5 inches wide. Thank you.

I have 18s on my cutlass not sure if that helps you but the 18s look pretty good and don’t rub

First guess is no - Tesla wheel bolt pattern likely completely different from your 4.75" GM wheels (I assume I'm reading your question correctly that you're inquiring about whether the wheels themselves would retrofit)

2nd guess also no - those 19" tires even if mounted on a GM bolt pattern rim, may be too large around for at least the front stock suspension travel if not both ends (others more knowledgeable on that point may offer alternative thoughts on that though)

Both tire sizes from the Tesla are about 28" in diameter. The 285/40-19s are nearly the same size at 275/60-15, so they will fit on the back if you can get rims with the correct offset. The fronts are probably too large in diameter. I've run 255/60-15s on the front, which are an inch smaller in diameter, on zero offset rims and I get a little rubbing if I hit a bump with the steering turned hard to one side.

The diameter of the WHEEL is irrelevant. It's the outside diameter of the TIRE and offset of the wheel that matters.
