Weird Wheels

Hey all. My 'just purchased' 1970 Cutlass Conv has some strange wheels on it, and I can't find them on the web to see if they're worth anything. They have Buick center caps on a turbine-type wheel, but the turbine fins are flexible, like maybe they're rubber? I'd like to know what they are, to see if they're worthless or maybe worth tens of dollars. Any ideas?

78-81ish Buick Regal wheels, steel 14" wheels with a styled rubber face.

You can't do anything without pictures. These should be interesting.

Most of the manufacturers tried a POLYCAST wheel in the mid-'70s/'80s. Here's a 14" Chevy wheel.

Those Oldsmobile Super Stock IVs only came in 5 on 5.00" bolt circle, so I doubt they are on the OP's '70 a-body.

These aftermarket Motor Wheel Corp. "EXITER" wheels were available with a 5 on 4.75" bolt circle.

Do they look like this, by chance?

As noted above, polycast wheels were a GM experiment in the 1970s to get the aluminum wheel look with steel wheel cost and durability. There's a steel wheel under structure with a molded polyurethane decorative outer face. The Pontiac honeycomb wheels were made the same way.

Thou shall not mention Monte Carlo's of 1973 or newer manufacture in polite company. The GM redesign hit that car real, real hard; the 72 is beautiful, and the 73 is hideous.

The 70 yes, the 71 maybe, but never the 72. Had too much unnecessary cheap-looking trim on it. The 73 rectified that with an elegant, swoopy, uncluttered design. Then they started that adding-unnecessary-trim cycle all over again until the 75-77 were really hideous. Think that baroque two-toning they put on them...

I think the OP's wheels are probably the Buick wheels Joe posted.

Sorry for the no-pic question, and thanks for all the responses.

Our winner is Joe P., his pic is identical to what I've got on the Cutlass.

These things are hideous, is there any value to them??

Nope. They are 5x4.75, used on late 70s/early 80s A/G body cars.

Beauty is in the eye. I kinda like them. No use to me tho, or I'd make an offer.

If they are in good shape, put them up for sale on a Buick site. I am sure someone there would appreciate them.
