Twin Line Whitewalls

Anyone know if there are reproduction twin lined whitewalls for 70-72 F-78-14's out there?

Coker tire makes a dual white line sidewall tire. It's a BF Goodrich but they list G78 and H78 for that year and model.

I know what you're describing. For a while just about all the tire manufacturers in the late 60's and early 70's offered that feature. Searched a lot of vintage sites and forums, but the only thing I found was double red stripes and they were on ebay of all places. None of the vintage places including coker have the double white stripe on their web pages. Maybe I just looked in the wrong place? http://www.ebay.com/itm/BF-Goodrich-...112132&vxp=mtr

I believe you're looking for 2] in the following chart (sorry it's 70 Chev, but gets the point you're making across)

My dad had those on his car in 1970. Personally, I didn't like them. My brother and I had to convince him just to get blackwalls. He did one year later. The pictures below were taken in March 1970 and March 1971.

Heehee- I bet you really loved the triple-rings that came out on the 70 Toronado!

www.dbtires.com They can make you any whitewall (or red, gold, or blue) you want, on a new radial tire casing. Your trouble will be finding a large 14" tire to make it on, but I think some companies still make a 225-70R14 white letter so that would be your starting point. A 215-75R14 might be big enough for an A-body, but a Vista Cruiser is a big A-body.

The owner is an Olds guy (see the 50 in the webpage) and is a professional rubber chemist though I forget which tire company he worked for before starting Diamondback.

I have, in the past, made a double whitewall out of a single whitewall. E-mail me at tirestarz@yahoo.com and I can provide you with details.
