Tires for '70 olds 442

What do you find to be the best size tires for a '70 OLDS 442. 3:23 gears (posi) stock SSII wheels 14 x 7.

Have BF G Rich 235/60-14. To me too small O.D. 25.1"

Thinking about BF G Rich 225/70-14 O.D. 26.5"

Too bad you can't buy 235/70-14 anymore .....O.D. 27.0" nice ......

Closer to stock diameter of 26.8" G-70-14's

....Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks !

Personal preference I guess. I have 245/60/14's on my 1970. But have 235/60/15's on my 1967 4 door daily driver. I do like the looks of 15" on these cars. It seems to fill out the fender well better without looking too large for the openings. John

The 225/70/14 would be as close as you can get in a 14" these days. I personally opted for a 15" wheel not only because there are more tire choices, but they look better on the car.

Yeah then you're kinda stuck. I hope you have stock in a tinre company. Those small tires won't take much of a heavy foot.

Agreed the 15" wheel's offer many more choice's. Sorry but new to the site. You may see mutiple's of this.
As I sent God know's where.... just got a set of refurbised SSII 14 x 7 rims. You have confirmed my belief's about choices for the 14" rims.
Thanks!

Coker Tires is reproducing the G70 x 14 in the wide oval raised white lettering, wide oval redline and the wide oval white stripes just like back in their heyday. However they are $199. each plus shipping. Which is not bad considering they are built better now. IMO.

My 255/60/15s don't fair all that well from a stand still if I mash the little pedal to the floor. I can only imagine what will happen to a set of 225/70/14s.
