Which tires?
#2
I just bought a 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale Brougham and I need to replace the 215/75/R15 tires. The door jam sticker calls for 205/75/R15's but I'd like to go wider because there is room & it would provide better look & ride. Thinking to stay with the white walls since the car is a 4-door & painted white with maroon interior. Also, it has 39,000 original miles on it & I'd like to keep it as close to factory as possible.
Any suggestions on Which Tire Brand may look & ride well on this vehicle?
Suggestions from actual owners would be very helpful. Maybe a picture or two also.
Thanks for the help.

Your 215/75-15s are 27.7" in diameter.
I'm running 235/70-15s on my 84 Custom Cruiser. These are 27.9" in diameter.
You could also run 235/65-15s, which would be 27.0" in diameter, nearly the same as the OEM tires but about 1" wider. Unfortunately, I have not found a source for that size tire. I'd suggest the 235/70s, which are readily available from BFG. I have no problems with them on my 84. Your speedo will read about 3% slow due to the larger diameter.
