Tire Size Recommendation - SSII

I have a set of 14" SSII wheels for my 1972 Convertible Cutlass. I am looking for a nice looking white letter tire with good ride height and width. The old tires that are on there are 215 / 70R 14 but they look short to me ( they are not on the car ). Any suggestions of tire size that will give the car that nice muscle car stance would be greatly appreciated.

14's are getting more difficult to find. I installed P225 70R 14 BF Goodrich. Tried to find a similar set of Firestone Indy 500 Firehawks, but couldn't find a complete set.

Thanks for that info. So I should go with the 225 to give it a nice height look if I can find them ?

I run BF Goodrich Radial TAs on both my cars. The size is 245/60/14. I like the stance and the look.

Darryl, can you post some pics of your cars so I can see the stance?

The 245 60 14's are 1" smaller than the stock dia. of 26.2", 225's will give you the right dia., but very difficult to find any wider than that.

235/60-14s are even smaller than 245/60-14s, which we've already determined are about 1" smaller than OEM. This might help:

As stated above, the 225/70-14s are the closest you can get to the OEM diameter without shelling out big bucks for repro bias ply tires.

My cars with 225/70/14s:

The dark blue Supreme has cut front coils so it sits lower up front; the other two are stock height.

Too skinny for me, I also looked into this, I decided the 245/60's were what I like'd best.
Tires are not original anyway. I would buy a taller tire if available, but width wins out for me, looks better from front and rear.
