Suggestion for aftermarket Rims other than Thrusts or Cragers??

Hi guys, Ive been looking at all the rim posts but are there any suggestions for aftermarket 15" Rims other than the Torque Thrusts or Crager look? I like them both but everybody has them. They will be going on a 1969 Cutlass. The rims I currently have are the rims I bought with the car from the junkyard and are pretty pitted up even after polishing. They look ok but need to be replaced. I'm think 15x7 or 15x8.

That's a handsome ride!

I've always been particular to American Racing CP200's. And I bought them in 1978 for the same reason you cite - Everyone Has Craigers! I couldn't stand the Craigers in HS, and they still hurt my eyes today. The CP200s are the wheels on my (then) '68 "S" in my Avatar pic. I've been looking for a set off and on to go on my current '68 442. Until I find a good set at a good price, I'm running the SSII's. I loved those CP200s; 14"X10" with GR60U14's. Awesome Stance and Look.

I think these look pretty cool myself:

I would go 15x6 on the front and 15x8 on the back

Welcome and nice '69, but I'm a bit biased on that. How about repop SSI's in the sizes you mention. Looks stock-ish but allow you to run bigger tires to fill the wheel wells. Everyone has opinions on wheels so get whatever makes you happy.

I like ansen sprints (or similar knock-offs). They were popular in the sixties and seventies, but no-one uses them anymore.

my opinion

Repo SS1 Olds rims with 15 x 7s up front & 15 x 8s out back look killer on the 68-69 body style. I run 235 60 15s up front & 255 60 15s out back.

Some 24s with the whole car jacked up about 2 foot all the way around would look modern.

I also like the cp200's or as we called them back when, "chrome coke bottle mags" Slot mags are nice too. I don't care much for poverty caps. Those who ordered them like that almost never used them. That is one of the first day 2 modifications is wheels and tires. Lets face it the 70 bias ply tires sucked. There was lots of Appliance fine wire wheels in the 70's too.

T/A radials are great but we also had lots of other tires back then too.
Reminton XT120, Daytona Sports, and many more

It is all a personal taste thing. Then of course funds play into it also.

I use standard centerlines made out of aluminum classic drag racing style and very light with p235 60,s and a ho suspension,I love the way it handles and stops even with extra power and looks excellent. warren johnson used these in the eighties and they weigh about suposedly around 10 pds a piece with less rolling mass. I have never weighed them though.
