Struggling with wheel fitting

Ok guys looking for some help here and excuse my ignorance on this subject

my 79 cutlass Calais came with 2000 Camaro front break setup which I understand is a common upgrade

I currently have 16 x 8 rims which I don’t like

my question is from your experience can I fit 15 inch rims on here ??

im not sure about backspace positive or negative offset

I have about 3/4 inch space from rim to top of caliper

what do you think folks ??
can I fit a 15 in there ?

The inside of the 15" wheels will be half an inch closer to the calipers. I doubt they will clear.

That’s joe. I do have about 1/2 inch to 3/4 left on the clearance

what about a negative offset would that help ?
