Actually this is my last big purchase for my build... i hope. Eric how much space do you have on the inside between the tire and frame or inner wheel house? Wheel Vintiques offers a 5 inch back space with the SS1's. Joe P. said in another thread that this would be beneficial for 66-67's. Im sure ill buy a 15X8 for the rear but i want the biggest wheel and tire i can safely put in the back.
Eric this thread is a good idea on your part as i hope it will help me determine what i need.
I moved your post to its own thread to eliminate any big conversations on the other. I've got around 3 inches from the tire to the inside wheel well. I believe either wheel will tuck right up in there at stock height. The front rubbed with the 225-70-15 towards the rear of the wheel well at a bit of sagging stock height.
Thanks just straight from the side so i can see the gap in front and back of the tire. It sounds like either the 4.5 inch back space or the 5" will be ok. The 275 60R 15's are 28 inches tall i believe. Im curious to know if a 29 or 30" would fit safely .
Thanks
Steve
Your going to have to lift the car to bigger. I think at stock height any larger will rub on the inner side of the upper fender. I can probably get a 30" tire in the back.
This was the stock height before I installed the springs.
This was with just the rear ones before they settled in.
Ok thanks that helps, I think i have the same rear springs you do. You gave me the part number a couple of years ago i think. Maybe i should just go with the 275 60's for now, unless someone else can verify a larger tire that will fit safely.
Thanks again
Steve

295 50 15s also fit when I had my 66 post coupe but 275 60 15 is plenty of tire for a street driver.
