Ss iii bezels

Hi All,

The question I have is I am putting on my bezels on my newly painted wheels, attached is a picture of the back side of the bezel with the three tabs. It seems the the larger of the three tabs bends in and the two smaller don't and the bezels don't sit flush all the way around. What is the proper way to install?

Thanks

I slightly tweaked the tabs outward you are talking about until all the rings gave a good "click" when I pushed them fully into the rim. None of mine seemed to hang off at all as long as they snapped into place tightly.

^^^This. The tabs get bent when they are removed. I squeeze the "C" section on the big end to tighten it up a little. At the small end, note that the two outside tabs are longer than the center one. The outside tabs are supposed to press against the edge of the cutout in the rim to push the bezel towards the OD of the rim (and prevent the click-click-click at slow speeds). The shorter center tab actually snaps over the edge of the cutout in the rim to retain the bezel.

Thanks Joe,

The one question I have is that my bezels are 71/72 and if you see in my picture the one end one is quite a bit wider then the other two. On the 70 ones they are like you stated but these have that wider one one the end. Do you have a picture of the back side of the wheel 71/72 with the bezels correctly installed?

Thanks,
Karl

Yes, this is pretty common on the later bezels. I don't know why, but I just be sure that at least one of the outside tabs is pressed against the edge of the cutout to push the bezel towards the OD, and the center one is snapped over the edge of the cutout to retain the bezel. I've never had a problem with this.
