Brand New Guy in PA looking for help!
Hello all, My name is Mike and just moved back to my home state of PA after being away in MA for 12 years and prior serving 12 years in the US ARMY. I owned a 1970 Olds Cutlass at one point while in the Army and my father was restoring it. Recently it was sold, but I have questions about 4 rims that I have that were left behind in PA. Can someone direct me in the correct forum so I can get the correct information on these rims? I have (4) rims...14 x 6 JK with a rim code of 810 stamped on all of them. I have looked online and got some information, but nothing with a 810 stamp code. On the back inside of the rim it has a stamp 69 and next to it M9. I have a feeling these are rare rims and I would like to get all the correct information I can. Thank you so much. I am looking forward to hearing from everyone. Enjoy!!!

14 x 6 RIMS JK STAMP 810 STAMP 69
Hello all, My name is Mike and I live in PA. I was reading the posts in the forum and was hoping I would be able to find some information out on some rims I own. I owned a 1970 Olds Cutlass that I recently sold in MA. When I moved back to PA 8 weeks ago, I found 4 rims in my fathers shed that are stamped on the outer rim 14 x 6 JK 810 then there is another 3 digit stamp D2 and a backwards D. Also a 2 digit stamp of 22.
Then inside the rim it is stamped 69 (probably the year) another stamp of B and then another 3 digit stamp of M the next letter unidentifiable of all rims, and then a number 9. On the front of the rim there is a 2 digit stamp of 22 and then another 2 digit stamp of ES and then a single stamp of the number 4. I have done extensive research and found some items out: Of course the 14 x 6 is the size, 810 is the rim code, jk is the bead code and I believe that means disc brake compatible, Inside the 69 is probably the year. I have read extensively on the internet just to find out what I have. I will attach a picture and see if this helps. The questions I have are: Are these SS1 rims? Are these rare rims? What makes/models and years will they fit? What are they worth? I definitely appreciate any feedback you may have. Thank you very much!

I moved your post and merged your identical threads. Those are SSII wheels, not SSIs which were the topic of the original thread. The JK does refer to the bead shape, but that is unrelated to whether they clear disc brakes or not. As it happens, ALL SSII/III wheels will clear factory 10.75" disc brakes, including these. The 14x6 versions were only used in the 1968-69 model years. In 1970 Olds went to 14x7. The fit any GM car with the 5 x 4.75 bolt circle and factory-style 10.75" discs or 9.5" to 11" drums. They would only be correct on the 68-69 442 and Cutlii cars.

to be more specific about the date - look by the valve stem hole
M1/8 6 -o- 17 LS
M = Motor Wheel Corp
1 = plant #1 (Lansing, MI)
8 = 1968
6 = June
17 = 17th of month (Monday, June 17, 1968)
LS = application code

Thank you everyone for your information! Now I have some additional things which helps greatly. Since I do not have the car anymore, the rims are useless to me. I know from restoring my car, certain parts and items are hard to find. Are these rims hard to find? Are they rare? Anyone know their worth? All 4 of them do come with the bolt on center caps also. Is there a demand for them? I would really like to sell them for a fair price, especially if they are rare and someone is looking for them. It will make both parties happy. Thank you very much for all you information, very helpful so far!

They are not particularly rare. Correct for all '68-'69 SSII applications. Don't seem to be particularly sought after, even for stock restorations because many are going to larger SSII versions.
Which I don't understand the least. They go overboard with date coding parts and yet don't put stock wheels and tires on the car just because they don't think they "look right". How stock can look wrong (for a stock restoration) is nothing more than warped logic.

I know of 2 recent sales(2014) of 2 sets, one full set of 5 wheels for 250.00. A second partial set of 4 for 200.00. All 9 wheels had center caps with scars and medium pitting. Also sold one bare wheel for 65.00.

Had a set on a 66F85 and they really "looked right" on that car!
