I have a 1966 442 sedan.i was trying to identify my 14" steel rims and see if they are original to the car.there is a R next to the valve stem.but there 2 different brands, kelsey hayes and electrofuse.or can any one recommend a good reference book to figure this out?

There is not a reference source for this info. Yet. (We're putting this info together at Wild About Cars and will post it as soon as we can.)

Congrats, it appears you may have the original steel wheels for your car. Not a common find any more. The code R you refer to us the correct broadcast/production code for the HD 14" x 6" standard steel wheel for the 442 for '66. Actually for '65-'68. There were 2 different wheel manufactures used at the time, but the applications and codes are the same. Multiple vendors were common for many components, like wheels, tires, frames, suspension components, jacks, to name a few.
