New 18" wheels

BG Rod Works by Voss Wheels
Gasser Wheel, 18x9 with 13 offset
255/45/18 front
285/40/18 rear
Goodyear Eagle Supercar

Clear my C5/C6 brakes with no spacers. Plenty of room in the rear, quarter panels have the lip rolled slightly from my previous combo. But I think they would be fine without the lip rolled. Car is not currently running, so I have not had time to put the front suspension through full travel at full steering lock. However, my previous combo was 255/45/17 up front with plenty of room. I'm confident that the extra 0.5" of tire won't be an issue. Front end should come down a hair more once I put the hood back on.

Only full shot:

I was slightly concerned how I'd like the 285 rears on a 9" wheel, but they look great! A slight sidewall bulge to them, but nothing unsafe. I think they help give the rear a 'meatier' look.

Two pics of the rear:

Looks good.

Chevy put that style rim on the new ZL1 Camaro last few years
The classic rims are more centered with a small offset VS modern rims, but they're nearly identical.

I agree with the others postings.... those wheels look sharp! Looking at your signature pic, your previous rims are the same on my car now.

Chris - here are the wheels I had on there previously. I think all the specs are in there, but if you have any specific questions just let me know!

Yes, it's lowered about 2" up front and I'd say 1.5 - 2" in the rear. I also have a handful of suspension upgrades as well, but I don't think that would affect fitment.

Nick sorry to keep bugging you with questions but I am having a hard time findind a -6 offset for the rear, the wheels I would like to use are 17/9 have and are +6 offset do you know if they would have clearance problems.

Nice! I like them.

Where the C5/C6 brakes a direct swap, or did you have to mod anything?

It was a kit from KORE3, everything you need is included. Tobin is a GREAT guy to work with, and he'll change the package to suit your needs. Example: I got the pads and calipers from him, but supplied my own rotors. Only read "mod" was matching the master cylinder to the rest of the combination.

Chris - if you compare the 17x9 +6 offset wheels you're looking at, to the 18x9 +13 offset wheels I have, your wheels would be moved out 7mm more. If you don't go too wide with the tires, you should be fine. With the fat 285/40/18 I have in the back, if mine stuck out 7mm more, it may hit the quarter panel on bumps, but I'm lowered a decent amount.

What is the exact wheel you're looking at? What size tires are you thinking about using?

I used this website for their calculators all the time: http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator

I am looking at FOOSE Legend 17X8 front +1mm offset 4.5 backspace and 17X9 rear +7mm offset and 5.25 backspace. I havent decided on the tires, I just want a good ride. I would like to get as wide as I can with out a lot of side bulge.

Hey Mr. Nick, You just solved my wheel dilemma! :-) I have the perfect project for those wheels. Can you take a full side view and post it? And by reading your post you stated a +13 offset on all four wheels? Correct? I am also going the Kore 3 route. Did you hook up the e-brake? Please let me know. I like your set up! looks awesome.

Chris - didn't see you replied again to this, sorry. Did you end up getting wheels and tires? If so, what combo?

Yep 13 offset front and rear. Currently working on the car, so it's still in the garage. I can take a slightly wider angle shot for you.

I got the Kore3 kit with the parking brake brackets, but didn't buy all the hardware yet. The car had an automatic when I did the brake upgrade, so I didn't care about a parking brake. Now that I swapped to a stick, I don't like leaving it in gear so I'll have to add the parking brake soon. That's why I got the parking brake brackets, I knew I'd add it later.

Offset

Hey Nick, Do you think that a zero offset wheel in the rear would work with a 265 tire with your setup? I'm looking at a deeper lip in the rear.

Didn't think I'd like them from the title, but those look nice. I would like to see a shot from farther away.

Back in the garage today, I'll get a farther shot and post it.

Zero offset in the rear would put them about about 1/2 farther out. I'd say you'll be fine with a 265 tire. Zero offset with my 285's would be very tight on the 1/4 panel lip. If you're running drum brakes in the back, you'll be even safer.

That being said... different offset wheels doesn't always mean different lip size. They may get the different offsets by changing the height of the mounting pad area.

HA! The angle of that shot is pretty close to my original picture, nice work! I like the 554 engine logo...

I like it, but not sure the gray on the wheels goes with the gold stripes on the H/O.

Maybe something like these on the Hurst Challenger?

I was just shopping this wheel and was wondering who you ordered them from?

I saw a picture of your car on 4 Wheel Online while checking their page out.

I need about 5" to tuck the wheel up and in on the 87 Buick Turbo T after adding LS1 brakes.

The new wheels really compliment your car too.

I ordered mine through a local Discount Tire retail store, same price as online and I was able to deal with an actual person and not a computer screen.

That picture of my car has been used on a different site as well, along with fake product reviews. They took posts from me other others (on the pro-touring site) and cut/paste to make fake product reviews... ***** CARiD
